The initials of Victorio's sidekicks form the abbreviation UMD, an apparent nod to the Universal Motion Dancers, a popular dance group.
In a harana (serenade) scene, Victorio and his sidekicks formed a parody band called the Mongol Heads. The group performed a spoof of "Ligaya," a song by the Eraserheads.
