Prior to becoming an action star, Sonny Parsons (born Jose Nabiula) was known as a member of the all-male music group Hagibis. He also ventured into politics, winning as councilor of Marikina City.
A shooting enthusiast, Parsons put his skills to good use when he pursued and shot robbers who had tied him and household members in 2002. A year later, he stopped men who attempted to blow up his house. In 2005, he shot and wounded suspected holdup men.
